Hard candies straddled the line between candy and medicine starting in the 1800sand still do today (think cough drops). Sugar, crazy as it sounds, was one of the line-up of medicines. The flavor of sugar, as youll see in these candies, is mild and refreshing, not the cloying flavor we expect whenever sugar is involved. Each candy is lightly sanded with granulated sugar to keep it from sticking, is bite-sized and long-lasting. Comes in a reusable jar with the story on the label.
